With a background in fashion design, Mia’s career crossed over into costumes in 1993. Since then she has designed costumes for a wide variety of live entertainment venues. These include traditional theater, theme park shows, and parades. A world traveler, Mia draws inspiration from a multitude of sources. Her ability to draw inspiration from different styles, cultures and eras has resulted in some very unique designs.
Mia's extensive experience in live entertainment production enables her to quickly work through the creative process. She understands the demands of live performance. This requires costumes that combine function, artistry, and durability. These requirements are taken into account during the design and fabric selection process. Mia's ability to go from concept to a choice of visual designs is outstanding. She works closely with the client and/or director to design costumes that complete an artistic vision. Mia understands that a truly great costume design supports a character and enhances the overall concept.
Mia enjoys a challenge and continues to seek projects that push creative boundaries.
